Obesity, or being overweight, is a state in which an individual gains excess fats that may seriously affect their health. It can be defined as a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more. It is a major public health problem worldwide. Obesity Valhalla is associated with many serious diseases and conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and stroke. It may also affect the quality of life, reducing energy levels and mobility. Here we’ll discuss the causes of obesity.

Here are the causes of obesity.

    Genetics

Genetics is one of the most important factors in the development of obesity. If a parent is obese, there is a higher chance for their children to become obese. In fact, genetics can account for about 25% of the variance in body weight among adults. Obesity runs in families because it is often caused by multiple genes, not just one gene. Genes also make people more susceptible to being overweight because some people may have fewer fat-burning genes than others or genes that make them hungrier than others.

    Diet

Some studies suggest that certain foods may increase a person’s risk of becoming obese, while others appear to decrease it. For example, artificial sweeteners have been linked to obesity in some studies, while omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil have been found to reduce a person’s likelihood of becoming obese.

    Lack of exercise

The simple act of moving your body burns calories, so if you are not active, you are more likely to gain weight. Exercise also helps control appetite and regulate hormones, affecting your body’s ability to control appetite and burn fat. So even if you are eating the same amount as someone else or following the same diet plan, your body’s fat-burning mechanisms may not work as well as someone who is exercising regularly.

    Stress and depression

When stressed out or unhappy, it is common to turn to food for comfort, which can lead to being overweight or obese. In addition to feeling bad because you don’t like your appearance in the mirror, excess weight is linked with several other health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. Chronic stress can also throw off balance in your brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that help regulate hunger and fullness signals. This can make it much harder to lose weight since eating becomes more compulsive and harder to control.

    Environmental factors

There has been a substantial change in our environment over the past few decades, and these changes could be a major factor driving obesity rates. Most people have shifted their food consumption from natural foods to processed foods. These processed foods tend to be higher in saturated fats and lower in fiber, which can lead to weight gain and other health problems.

Many factors contribute to obesity, including genetics, metabolism, and environmental factors. A high-sugar diet is one contributing factor to weight gain, as well as a sedentary lifestyle. Other causes include inflammation in the body from bacterial infections or autoimmune disorders, plus some medications, such as some medical conditions, such as hypothyroidism. If you are struggling with weight gain, keep in touch with Advanced Surgeons. They will help you achieve your desired weight.
