One of the best features of Apple iMovie is its ability to manage your movie library. I’ve found that this is the easiest way to back up and organize your movies. The other options are a bit less creative. Clipping photos to a flash drive or storing them on your computer are simple enough but some people don’t want to take the time to do this.

When you open your movie app, you can see a list of all of your files in folders. You can view the files for movies, music, TV shows or trailers. You can even view your entire library in one view. This makes organization of your files a snap.
Go to the “Movie Library”
The way to delete things from my movie library is to go to the “Movie Library” section of the main menu. If you click on the “Get New Movies” button you will be taken to your current library. Here you will see all of your most recently deleted items. You can delete these by hand but I would suggest using the drop down menu on the right side of the item and selecting “Delete.”
Depending on how many movies you have movie library x1337 deleted or how many days ago they were deleted, you might not be able to find the deleted files. The other option is to use the advanced search feature. You can find items by entering their filenames and going into the search field. You can also specify a time range or specific movie genre. The advanced search allows you to enter specifics so it will return results for your needs.
It’s probably easy enough to figure out how to delete things from my movie library if you have a few movies. The problem comes up when there are multiple DVDs for example. If you are missing a few movies or have duplicates showing, you could be looking at a mountain of data to sort through. It’s easy enough to open up the “My Movies” folder and remove the duplicates, but what about the movies that aren’t in the folder?

Download software that organizes your data
The easiest solution for this would be to download some software that organizes your data. There are a lot of different types of software available, but most just organize folders and the movies that are in them. Once installed, it will run in the background, keeping an eye on your movie library and removing duplicate items as they appear. When you are finished with it, the software will remove all of your data and save it to a flash drive. This leaves you with an almost pristine library.

If you know how to delete things from my movie library, you have found one of the best ways to clean up your data. It might be a good idea to keep a backup of your entire library somewhere, just in case your computer crashes and you need to retrieve your lost files. If you have purchased DVDs that you can no longer watch, there are software programs that will organize and copy these out for you. Some people even use these DVDs for backup purposes.
Knowing how to delete things from my movie library may seem like a lot of work, but it really isn’t. Duplicate files and all other errors are easily cleaned out and removed. If you regularly make duplicate movies, try adding a copy of your library to your flash drive or CD and store it in a separate place. That way, you will always have access to your favorite titles and be able to watch them whenever you want.
