Pastore Peak is a mountain located in Karakoram region of Pakistan closer to China border. The peak was named after Antonio Pastore, a famous Italian explorer. There are two routes to climb Pastore Peak: the northwest route and the southeast route.
The northwest route starts from the Pasture Plateau parking lot and goes through a series of switchbacks up to the ridge above. It then follows along the ridge until it reaches an opening called “the notch” and then drops down into a valley before climbing back up again to reach the summit. This route is considered easier than other routes because it does not require much scrambling or climbing.
The south-east route starts at a lower elevation than other routes, but it is considered more difficult because it has steep sections that require some scrambling and climbing skills. When using this route, climbers must be prepared for dangerous conditions such as loose rock, snow fields, and steep drop-offs along with extreme weather conditions including blizzards and avalanches.

If you choose to climb Pastore Peak, you must be physically fit because there are no trails on this mountain and it takes about 27 days to reach the top from either side of the mountain’s base camp area.
