A new kitchen is often the centrepiece of every home, as it’s the place where everyone gathers to cook, eat, and entertain friends and family. With that in mind, it’s important to get the right look and functionality so you can truly enjoy your space. Today, modular kitchen is on the rise because it offer many of the conveniences of traditional custom luxury kitchen designs without the hefty price tag – plus they’re easier to install, require less planning and fewer design decisions, and are easier to update later on.

    1) Determine your budget

First, determine your budget. Make sure you create a realistic budget that you’re comfortable with; if you set too low of a budget, your kitchen could end up looking cheap and poorly put together.

Once you’ve set your budget, allocate at least 50% of it toward high-quality appliances, cabinetry and countertops. These are key components of any kitchen remodel project and will likely be what people notice most when they visit.

    2) Pick the right builder

Finding a modular kitchen builder you trust and can work with is essential. Check out reviews, search for builders in your area, then narrow it down by price, quality and aesthetic.

And remember: You get what you pay for. If you want high-quality cabinets that will last, don’t skimp on your builder. Look for experience, certifications and good online reviews before hiring your modular kitchen maker.

    3) Choose the design you want

Consider factors like size, function and traffic patterns when deciding on your ideal kitchen layout. Once you’ve settled on one of your ideas, use graph paper or CAD software to draw it out and get an idea of how everything will look.

You can even create a scale model out of cardboard if you don’t have easy access to computer design tools. A drawn-out plan will save you from costly mistakes down the road and help ensure that everything fits together nicely once installed.

    4) Decide on your appliances

When designing your kitchen, you’ll have a range of different options for appliances. A full-sized oven is great for special occasions, but it will likely be used less frequently than an electric oven. Make sure your selection matches with how you plan on using your kitchen.

In general, if you don’t know how much time and effort you’ll spend cooking in your modular kitchen, choose smaller appliances that are easier to clean and won’t take up as much space.

    5) Design custom cabinetry with built-in features

Custom cabinetry can make all the difference in your kitchen and will be sure to add visual appeal. In addition, custom-built kitchens are often more functional than standard kitchens.

When designing your own kitchen, consider building in extra storage space so you can keep your cabinets uncluttered and easy to use. You may also want to consider built-in appliances like an oven or microwave so you don’t have any bulky appliances cluttering up counter space.

    6) Consider location and traffic flow in your layout plan

When creating your layout plan, it’s important to account for how traffic will flow in and out of your kitchen, as well as how kitchen equipment fits into existing elements of your house.

For example, you may want to set up a wall-mounted microwave on one side of your room and mount that fancy new oven on another side—this way, traffic flow won’t be obstructed by these new kitchen additions.
