Instead of attempting to visit, eat, drink, and see everything in New York City, we’ve selected the best things to do in the city, from famous sites to local favorites.

    Visit the Sept. 11 Memorial

Both the Manhattan skyline and the lives of those who lost a loved one on September 11, 2001, will never be the same. A number of years later, however, the Twin Towers were razed to make way for the development of One World Trade Center. Where the 110-story towers once stood, there are now two overflowing water mirrors with the names of the victims engraved on them. The grand opening of the museum occurred in the spring of 2014, and it is now receiving tourists.

Consider seeing the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

If you visit New York, you must spend some time admiring the Statue of Liberty, and the finest way to do so is from Battery Park on the ferry to Staten Island. Get close to its base for a breathtaking view of the river and Manhattan.

Climb the platform of the One World Observatory

Following your visit to the 9/11 Memorial, you are free to proceed to One World Observatory. This structure was created on the site of Ground Zero following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. When you stand on the observation platform at the very top of the structure, you will get an unobstructed view of New York City, including lower Manhattan, the Hudson, and Brooklyn.

    The pinnacle of the rock

If the Empire State Building has an impact on you, you can expect a similar level of spectacle from the Top of the Rock! The Rockefeller Center tower will transport you over 250 meters before dropping you on its world-famous observation deck. As it faces south, the latter offers a stunning view of New York City and its most recognizable structures, such as the Empire State Building. On the opposite side of the street, Central Park extends its arms to you.

Make your way to the Empire State Building’s highest point.

And if you opt to reside in one of New York’s most affluent communities? The Empire State Building on Fifth Avenue is without a doubt the most well-known skyscraper, and with good reason: it is presently the city’s third-tallest structure, after the One World (541 m) and the Central Park Tower. The Empire State Building offers a thrilling experience, and with good reason: it is the city’s third-tallest structure (472 m). A symbol that, when viewed from its 448.7-meter height (antenna included), encourages you to ascend to the 86th floor of its skyscraper (or 102nd for the more adventurous). Up there, the only thing left to do is to take in the breathtaking vista, which will almost make you feel as though someone is telling you that the world is yours.

Along the elevated High Line, take a stroll.

The High Line is a 2.3-kilometer-long linear park hung above an abandoned train line that stretches from the Meatpacking District to Chelsea. New Yorkers enjoy strolling, and the High Line, which extends from the Meatpacking District to Chelsea, is an excellent walking route.

    How to reach New York?

    By air

LaGuardia Airport (LGA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), all located in the borough of Queens, are the three airports that serve as entrance points to New York City for travelers coming by airplane.

    By train

Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal are located on the building’s eastern side (on the west side). Each station provides access to a range of metro and bus routes in the vicinity. Grand Central is the headquarters of the Metro-North Railroad, which serves the New York and Connecticut suburbs outside of New York City.

    By road

You can use one of the several low-cost and convenient bus lines to go to New York City from other locations in the United States and even some cities in Canada. Included in this category are the firms Megabus, BoltBus, and Greyhound.

    Conclusion

When there are so many places to go and activities to do, it may be tough to determine where to go. New York City offers an abundance of attractions and activities, including monuments, museums, and skyscrapers. So, what are you waiting for?
