    The first-ever heritage city declared by UNESCO, Ahmedabad, the city rich in culture, traditions, one of the largest cities in India. The city has a lot to show you if you are going with your family, friends, children, elders. Ahmedabad is a mixture of art, history, culture, business, museums.

    Whether its famous historic architectural places like Jhulta Minara, Heritage Walk, or Country’s largest and biggest automobiles museum, or Science City, or its delicious cuisine, and of course don’t forget Zari work Woven fabrics to buy, the list is vast to explore and experience if you are taking Vadodara to Ahmedabad taxi.

    Nicknames of Ahmedabad

    The city of Ahmedabad (former capital of Gujarat) has earned many titles. This biggest city is also known as “Manchester city of India” and is the second-largest textile city of India after Bhilwara, Rajasthan.
    Another noble success is being awarded the title of “Boston of India” because of its growing economy, culture, and administration.

    Its Culture and Heritage

    Ahmedabad city, located on the banks of the Sabarmati river, never fails to surprise a tourist whether you are traveling here for the very first time or second time. The city is rich in culture and its traditions. One of the most colorful and vibrating festivals celebrated in Ahmedabad is Navratri. It’s a nine-night dance festival called Ras Garba, performed by men and women in groups in their traditional and rich attire around the statue of Goddess Shakti to celebrate feminine divinity. It’s a lot of fun to watch and participate in Garba dance. It is celebrated in October every year.
    Another most energetic and colorful festival is the International Kite Festival, celebrated in January every year. It is mesmerizing to see kites in all colors, sizes, and shapes flying to touch the sky. This day, also famous as Makar Sankranti is important because it is considered the beginning of the new harvest season. Hundreds of kites flying together and everyone is in a festive mood.

    Road trip from Vadodara to Ahmedabad

    The distance from Vadodara to Ahmedabad is 112 km which will take almost 2 hours to reach Ahmedabad.     Nightlife in Ahmedabad is unique and quite happening. Gujarat being a “dry state”, you won’t find much of a nightlife in Ahmedabad. There are not many bars and pubs and Alcohol is also prohibited to serve in restaurants, however, there are few licensed liquor shops only allowed to serve alcohol. Nightlife is more about food, family, and friends. You can easily find food till midnight or all night, with people roaming on the street and enjoying mouth-watering food. One place which is must visit, the second biggest market in India and most important place in Ahmedabad are Manek Chowk, which is the vegetable market in the morning, a jewelry market in the day, and a food market at night. You will find a variety of food here till late at night. And also, must try Gujrati Thali.

    Being the second-largest textile city in India, you can’t miss filling your unfilled shopping bags with Bandhej, saree, and colorful dresses.

    Best Time to Visit

    The prime time to visit Ahmedabad is from November to February, the time when the weather is delightful and perfect to explore. In summer, the weather is extremely hot and humid.
