How to pair up your jewellery for different occasions?

For any special or casual occasion, clothing is usually is the star, but jewellery is the loyal partner without which the star may look incomplete. Jewellery is important to dress according to the occasion and by dress we mean your entire attire from head to toe. It covers the right clothes, jewellery, accessories and shoes.

It is important to remember that less is elegant. Overdoing your look may spoil it completely. Pairing up your jewellery for various occasions can be tricky especially if you’re unaware of basic societal etiquettes. Jewellery is mainly of two types. One is subtle and the other makes a statement. There are times when you simply want to look pretty, not flashy; and other times when you want your jewellery to do all the talking.

    Casual Jewellery

Some jewellery items can be worn every day. They fall under the category of casual jewellery. Delicate stud earrings or small hoops, chains and pendants are casual jewellery. For example, you could wear diamond studs with jeans a top. Or you could wear metallic bangles with a cool summer dress. They make you look simple and elegant without the feel of being overdressed.

    1. Dinner party

There is a difference between regular dinner parties and wedding parties. Wedding parties are usually a one-time event and really extravagant. So you can choose to be as flashy as you wish (not tacky of course). But dinner parties have a subtler atmosphere. You’d still be wearing an evening gown or a dress, but the jewellery will surely be different than a wedding. Long diamond earrings are usually the perfect choice. Pair them up with a personalized photo necklace. A diamond bracelet also goes really well with a look. You could also wear a metallic or studded watch instead of the bracelet.

    • Wedding

Weddings are a mix of formal and traditional occasions. The best occasion to flaunt your big and chunky jewellery pieces. Once you decide on a dress, then you can begin matching your jewellery with it. A statement necklace either studded or metallic will go wonderfully with a flowy dress. Use solid colour so you can pair it up with contrasting jewellery. The earring shouldn’t be too big or small. Go for a pair that will accentuate your hairstyle. If you’re leaving your hair open, then small earrings will do. In case of a bun or your hair done up, ear long loopy earrings that will take the attention away from the exposed jawline. Check out lab grown diamond engagement rings for amazing options for wedding jewellery.

    • Work

Fancy jewellery is a strict no-no at work. You may want to flash your sparkle, but that isn’t an appropriate thing to do. It is okay to wear jewellery at work, but it shouldn’t be too big or distracting. Since office is a formal setting, the jewellery you wear should also compliment your formal attire. Use small studs as earrings. You can wear a delicate pendant that isn’t too noticeable or bulky. You could also wear finger rings but not more than two. Avoid bracelets, wear a watch instead. Maintaining a minimalist look in the work settings creates a professional and strong impression. Jewellery sure does enhance the look, but it isn’t always necessary. Try sporting a super casual, no jewellery look at times when the dress is overpowering to keep it simple. Some women also go for the cool and casual look for their wedding jewellery. Check out the engagement rings in London catalogue if you want to find more about the same.
